Container shipping is the lifeline of today’s global trade. From humble origins in the 1950s, practically 90 % of the world’s non-bulk trade moves in containers. The shift to containers in India actively happened in the 1980s, and the J.M.Baxi Group was at the forefront of this new revolution, representing many of the world’s top lines, handling containers at ports and eventually setting up its own container infrastructure network.

Not every shipper or consignee requires a full container to be shipped, but they still require the cost-effectiveness of ocean-freight, and the cargo-care of a bigger consignment. BoxConsole Boxco’s LCL (less than container load) division, looks after this customers’ unique needs. With Boxco’s offices and network in India, and around the world, each piece of cargo’s value is understood and looked from the point of hand-over to the final destination. Boxco’s procedures, systems and manpower training ensure that each container is stuffed keeping in mind each cargo item’s sensitivity and the weight-balance issues of the whole container. A container may be under-stuffed just to ensure that the cargo inside reaches its destination safely and intact.
